Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: I don't accept insurance right now. If you have PPO insurance, I'm an out-of-network provider. This means you pay me directly for each session, and I give you a monthly superbill. You can send this superbill to your insurance company. If they approve it, they'll send you a check for the reimbursement amount. Most PPO plans will cover part of the session fee, but check with your insurance provider for details. You can also use your HSA or FSA to pay for sessions.

Q: What should I know about insurance for out-of-network therapy?

A: First, contact your insurance provider. Here’s a streamlined approach:

  • Reimbursement Rates: Inquire about payouts for individual therapy (CPT 90837) and couples therapy (CPT 90847).

  • Local Rates & Credentials: Confirm the reimbursement percentage for Los Angeles based on my LCSW credentials.

  • Deductibles: Investigate any deductibles that might influence reimbursement.

  • Session Limits: Ask about the maximum number of covered sessions.

Telehealth / Video Sessions

Q: I’ve never tried Telehealth / Video Sessions with a therapist, what should I expect?

A: Online therapy has been extensively studied, with research indicating that it is as effective as traditional in-person therapy. This modality offers significant convenience and comfort, allowing individuals to forgo the challenges of traffic and conduct sessions in the safety of their own homes. Moreover, online therapy eliminates geographical barriers, enabling clients to select a therapist that best meets their needs, regardless of location.
